hoot hoot
look what i got!

i entered my play kitchen re-do into last week's CSI Project--the theme was "spray paint"--and i made the top 10!
honestly, i think googiedaddy is breathing a sigh of relief that i didn't win #1...the prize was a big pack of KRYLON SPRAY PAINT...
{sorry, just drooled a bit on my keyboard}
anyway, there was some really cool stuff on there--i especially loved the stick chandelier by Jenn @ wanting what i have.
thanks CSI!!!

the one in which i get honest (and get an award)
I received the Versatile Blogger Award from Jess over at (appropriately enough) Made by Jess.
Somehow I've never seen her blog before (sorry!) and from reading through her posts she seems like a super sweet gal! 21 years old and a mom & stepmom of 3--WOW! She's got me beat :0)

Thanks Jess!
So, I have to share 7 things about myself, and then pass the award along.
I am soooo NOT GOOD at this!
Here goes:
1. I was 18 when I married googiedaddy. We knew we were young (he was 20), but we knew it was right, and didn't want to wait. We've been unbelievably happy for what will be 12 years in October.
2 Little Bear was due on our 10th anniversary. Visions of just googiedaddy and I in bathing suits on a warm beach with pina coladas in hand were replaced with visions of hospital gowns and soothing (ha) blue walls and ice chips in hand. But I liked that better :0)
3. I always wished I had a sister. I still do. I love the fact that my daughters have sisters. It makes me excited to see their relationship as they grow.
4. I kind of wish LittleMan had a brother.
5. I haven't sewn anything in about a month (except for a little at work. but that doesn't really count.) I go in spurts, and I haven't really had the sewing bug lately, even thought I have a pile of half-finished and unstarted projects awaiting my attention.
6. I am a voracious reader. I have to limit the amount of books I get from the library at one time. If I get 1 book, I'll read it in a week. If I get 10 books, I'll read them in a week. And my house will fall apart, nothing will get done, my kids will wear dirty clothes 7 days in a row and eat granola bars and fruit snacks for all meals.
7. Last week I stole a mirror right off the wall of my mom's house. I stopped by for a minute, saw it, and took it. Just like that. And she didn't even notice until I mentioned it. I'm not sure which is worse.
Okay, phew. That was alot tougher than I think it should have been. I don't know why I feel all 7 things have to be some earth-shattering revelations, instead of just "I buy my underwear at Walmart", but there it is. (and I do, mostly)
I never even finished the 9 things (or was it 11?) I was supposed to do with my last award and the one before that.
The other thing I never did was pass the award on to other bloggers.
Here's the thing: (and I'm not saying this from some sense of false modesty or anything)...I feel like "who am I?"
Who am I to get attention from someone else?
Who am I to decide who's worthy of an award?
Every single comment I get I go crazy over. I'm small stuff in the blogosphere, and I know it.
I read lots of other blogs, but they're all more "popular".
I feel like, seriously, am I going to give the Versatile Blogger award to Dana at Made? Or Katy at No Big Dill? Or Disney at Ruffles and Stuff? They probably get about 7 of these things a day.
So, here's my compromise. See those blogs on the right? The ones I have listed there? Those are the blogs I love and read with my cuppa joe in the mornings. The blogs that Isteal ideas from inspire me.
So go, shoo. Check 'em out. They're good reads--crafty, funny, heartbreaking, versatile, honest scrap stuff.
I hereby pass my awards on to all of them.

i'm not a blogger...but i play one on the internet
I guess it's this way for most bloggers~you have a "slow" blogging week, but in real life a lot is being accomplished. And so it's been in the googie household this week.
The hallway re-do is done, the living room update is getting there, the backyard is being torn up for new gardens as we speak, and Insanity was begun this week. I don't mean "insanity" like: "it's INSANITY in this house". But actual Insanity:

Let me just say: they are NOT kidding. As googiedaddy and Ido attempt these workouts, all we keep saying is "This is insane." Oh, right.
What I'm trying to say is, my hammies hurt too much to blog, yo.
Meanwhile, much to my surprise and dee-light I've received another bloggy award!

Well, actually the same one I already recieved, but from a different person~Shauna Fofauna @ shaunadnauseam. I recently stumbled across superfunny Shauna's blog, and here's what you need to know:
1. she's funny
2. she's Canadian
3. she's raising a baby alone much of the time--her hubby works some crazy job where he's home 2 weeks and gone 4 weeks or something crazy like that!
4. bears get in her trash.
Yup, I think that "aboot" sums it up, eh? (yuck yuck yuck, doesn't my Canadian humor just slay you?)
Thanks Shauna!
So, what can I say? Honest Scrap Awards am I! Momma always said honesty was the best policy. And since I didn't finish my 10 honest things when Jessica bestowed this award on me, I will now continue with my list:
3. I have been known to take my kids to school in my jammies. Sans bra. It's not a good idea.
4. I judge other parents for the way they look dropping off/picking up their kids. I have a reason, they are just slobs. (yeah, I'm looking at you McSmokey, HelmetHair/CamelToes Momma, and Mrs. Muffintop) I'm not proud of this. But I'm being honest.
5. I hated having red hair when I was little. I swore I was going to marry an Asian man to be sure and not have red-haired children.
6. I'm a little sad that none of my googies have red hair.
7. My 5 year old (Tiny Tim) writes this:

I love it. I always read it this way: YOU I love. Emphasis on the "you". I think it means so much more, don't you? Not like yeah, yeah, I love you. Much more decisive than that: YOU i love.
8. The Insanity workout I was referring to earlier? Yeah, well someone may have peed a little inher their pants when doing it. I won't say who, but in their defense they DID have 4 kids.
Alright, that's all I've got. Up to eight now. I'll have to think of some whoppers for #9 and #10!
Seriously, all this honesty and blogging is making my triceps hurt.

Lots of Random Happiness!
SOOOO...just a quick listing!
First, YAY! My pillows were featured on Under the Table and Dreaming this week. I love that blog, and I'm so excited! Thanks UtTaD!!
Also, I recieved a little bloggy love from Jessica @ Adventures of a Wife & Mom. She writes some really funny stuff--you should check out her post about the mullet! (And her girls are just stinkin' adorable!)
It's the Honest Scrap Award!

Thanks so much Jessica!
I think the rules are that I have to spill 10 honest things about myself, and pass on the award to some (10?) other blogs I read & like.
Yikes.
Okay, 10 things, here goes:
1. I have been a vegetarian since I was 13 years old.
2. Except for when I'm pregnant, and each time I have eaten a cheese steak sandwich, because I wanted it, and because I'm 20 mins. from Philly.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
Okaaayy...well. My brain bandwidth has already been used up for the week. (Can I upgrade to Brain Pro? I hear there's no ads...) I'm sure there's more I could spill...much much more. I'm going to have to think on it and come back to this. But I wanted to thank Jessica for the award!!
And FINALLY we have a giveaway winner! Through a thoroughly scientific and guaranteed random manner (no, I totally did NOT just ask my daughter to pick a number between 1 and 7--what would make you think that???) we have...

Congrats to our #2 commenter Tina, who said...
"I agree, reading to your children REALLY DOES pay off, not only in thier grades, but also in their imaginations, (my kids are much smarter than I was). Anyway, this is a good promotion. And, sidenote, I think googiemomma has more hours in the day than I do."
Congrats Tina! Your book will be coming in the mail soon!
And why yes, I have it worked out so that I have 25.7 hours in my day. :0)
This was a fun week...even though it's only Thursday for some reason in my brain it's already Friday. I'm checking out a day early apparently!
I think I'll end this post with a picture, because who doesn't love some dirty baby feet?
