wordless wednesday—a taste of summer

remember summer?

when the days are long…

and warm enough to be outside with bare skin…

days of baseball…

and the beach…

 

(this was the coolest thing…a bunch of tiny tiny kites they sent out one by one…attaching each one to the next in line before releasing it…)

and trees bearing strange fruit…

       

ah well…come the dog days of summer, i’m sure we’ll be missing this…

  

right?

…maybe not…

wordless wednesday~the wedding

some of my favorite shots from my cousin's wedding...

my definition of a beautiful bride: a bride who looks like herself, but even more gorgeous. not overdone, not underdone--it is a special occasion, after all. a bride who's comfortable, happy, excited, and laid back. no bridezillas, please :)

my cousin was all of these, and more. it was a beautiful, happy day. i wish them all the best.

(please bear with my long absence. just when i was prepared for a return to blogging, the googie family got hit with a stomach bug, pinkeye, and the on-going cold/flu/hacking cough thing. today, i cried mercy. doctor appointment is at 1:30)

wordless wednesday~gone pickin'

final tally: 25 lbs of apples, 18 lbs of peaches; which became 2 apple pies, 6 qts of apple pie filling, 3 pints of applesauce, 6 pints of blueberry-peach jam, 4 quart canned peaches, and 3 half-pints of peach honey. pheww.

Wordless Wednesday~On Our Way To Where the Air Is Sweet

Can you guess where we went???

We watched the shows...


We rode the horseys...







At least until they started moving. Turns out...Little Bear? Yeah, not so much with the moving rides.

But visiting with her ALL TIME FAVORITE in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD?
Oh yeah, she was all over that...



She launched herself into his arms so fast I didn't think she'd ever leave.

(Didja guess where we went yet?)



The boys were a blur in every pic I tried to take of them...even on "sport" mode! My camera can catch individual drops of water, but not 8-10 year old boys in motion. I need like a 1/100000th shutter speed (camera humor yuk yuk haha snort)

We finished out the day with some more water fun...















Until we were all pooped (and they kicked us out of the park)
