come on, irene

we were spared much of the devastation affecting the east coast.

the water from the creek across the street only made it as far as our sidewalk before receding.

but our electric was knocked out from saturday until around 7:30 last night. we were the wanderers…travelling hither and yon in search of a hot meal and warm shower.

we started our first day of school yesterday with coooold water, breakfast from dunkin’ and lunch bought at school (the verdict: bleeeck)

not the way we wanted to get off to a start for the new school year.

and tomorrow we leave to visit the “tuh-sins”, as little bear says.

please excuse my absence as i attempt to get our lives back in some small semblance of order.
